Why Living Authentically is the Most Nourishing Choice You Can Make

Be You, Fully!

Let’s get right to it….you cannot afford to live another day pretending to be someone you're not.

You were fearfully and wonderfully made - Psalm 139:14

Every quirk, every passion, every softness and strength in you was handcrafted by a loving God who never makes mistakes. So why are you still trying to fit into boxes He never meant for you?

So many women I coach feel emotionally and physically drained because they’re constantly shape-shifting to meet expectations. You act a certain way with your family. A different way with your friends. You water yourself down at church. You dial it up at work. You’re juggling a dozen masks and wondering why your relationships feel shallow and your soul feels dry.

➡️Let me be clear: that’s not nourishment. That’s depletion.

When you’re not living as your authentic self, your nervous system suffers. You’re in a low-grade stress response all the time, bracing yourself to perform, to please, to prove. No wonder you’re tired after every social interaction. You’re attracting people who don’t know the real you.

Authenticity is nourishment.

When you start showing up as the real you, you’ll notice:

  • Peace returning to your body.

  • Healthier relationships forming.

  • Less anxiety.

  • More joy.

  • God working in and through your life in ways you never imagined.

Because when you're not being yourself, you're rejecting the masterpiece God created.

Here’s how to begin living authentically, right now:

  • Get quiet with God. Ask Him, “Who did You create me to be?” Write down what comes up.

  • Notice where you shrink or where you perform. Is it around certain people? In certain roles? Awareness is your first step to freedom.

  • Take off one mask today. Maybe it’s saying “no” when you usually say “yes.” Maybe it’s sharing something real instead of something safe.

  • Surround yourself with safe people. People who love you for you. Not the curated version.

  • Start nourishing yourself deeply. Not just with food, but with rest, prayer, movement, truth-telling, and grace.

  • Speak life over yourself. Every morning, declare: “I am enough. I am loved. I am walking in who God made me to be.”

This is urgent. Your freedom, your healing, your purpose, it’s all tied to living authentically. The longer you wait, the longer you stay disconnected from your own heart and the God who shaped it.

The world doesn’t need another perfect woman. It needs YOU!!!

Whether you’re learning to let go of people-pleasing, rebuilding your confidence, or simply craving a more grounded and grace-filled life, I’m here cheering you on every step of the way. 💛

Reflection Questions:

  • In what areas of my life do I feel like I’m wearing a mask?

  • How does it feel in my body when I’m pretending versus when I’m being real?

  • What parts of me have I hidden that I long to let out?

  • Who in my life makes me feel safe to be myself?

  • What lies have I believed about who I need to be to be loved or accepted?

Journal Prompt:

Write a letter to your authentic self as if she were a long-lost friend. Apologize for abandoning her, celebrate who she is, and commit to showing up for her every day. Ask God to help you reconnect with the woman He designed you to be, and invite Him to guide you into deeper, soul-level nourishment.
