Simplify & Be Nourished: How Less Leads to a Life That Feels Like You

If you find yourself breathless from the hustle…chasing appointments, juggling roles, managing meals, wiping tears, folding laundry at midnight, answering messages, planning birthday parties, and making it all look effortless, you are doing your best. You are carrying so much. And somewhere along the way, you’ve set yourself aside.

You’ve become the glue holding everything together, yet you're slowly coming undone.

Your body whispers with fatigue. Your mind races at night. Your soul aches for rest. But there’s no time to pause. There are mouths to feed, people to please, boxes to check.

But what if I told you that simplifying your life isn’t giving up, it’s showing up? What if it’s not failure to say "no," but wisdom? What if slowing down is exactly what you need to come alive again?

Why Simplicity is More Than a Trend

Simplicity isn't about doing less just to do less. It's about doing less so you can live more fully. So you can reclaim your peace. So you can actually feel your life instead of just surviving it.

As a life coach, a woman of faith, and a mom who’s lived the chaos, I believe simplicity is a holy and radical act. It’s choosing to walk in freedom instead of frenzy. It’s honoring your body, your family, your calling, and your Creator with clarity and calm.

💜 Let me be honest with you: this is not just something I teach…this is something I’ve had to live. This lesson is deeply personal and honestly, still ongoing. Even now, I wrestle with wanting to take on the world. I want to say yes to everything. To every good opportunity, every person who needs help, every beautiful idea and adventure that comes my way. I want to be the one to show up, take on the task, lead the charge.

But between my family, my farm, and the priorities God has clearly placed in front of me, my life is already full. And when I try to cram more in, even with the best intentions, something always pays the price. My body starts to break down. My spirit feels heavy. I get short with my kids. I lose the tenderness and presence that matter most in my home.

I’ve learned that just because something is good doesn’t mean it’s meant for me.

I’ve learned that peace is precious, and that I can’t afford to keep compromising it for the sake of being "helpful" or "involved." Saying no isn’t selfish, it’s sacred. It’s how I protect what’s most important.

So when I write these words to you, I write them with tears and truth. I know what it’s like to overcommit, to overcomplicate, to continuously override your own needs in the name of being there for everyone else. I also know the freedom that comes with choosing simplicity. It’s not easy, but it is life-giving.

"Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil." – Proverbs 15:16

The Cost of Chaos: Your Health and Soul

A cluttered life can leave you:

  • Chronically tired but unable to sleep

  • Overfed but undernourished

  • Constantly "on" but emotionally numb

  • Snappy with your kids and disconnected from your spouse

  • Gaining weight despite your efforts because stress hormones hijack your body

  • Craving sugar or scrolling endlessly for comfort

  • Feeling guilty for wanting time alone

This isn’t the life God intended for you. You weren’t meant to hustle your way to worth. You weren’t designed to be everything to everyone, all the time.

What Simplicity Looks Like

Simplicity looks like:

  • Saying "no" to good things to say "yes" to what matters most

  • Canceling a packed weekend and choosing a family movie night in pajamas

  • Letting go of perfection in your home so you can protect peace in your heart

  • Deleting apps that drain your time and comparison trap your joy

  • Making dinner from five ingredients and serving it with laughter

How It Transforms Your Life

1. Your Health: With space to breathe, you’ll begin to hear what your body needs. You’ll sleep more deeply. Eat more intuitively. Move out of love instead of punishment.

2. Your Relationships: When you slow down, you begin to really see your people. You become less reactive and more compassionate. Conversations become richer. Touch more tender.

3. Your Role as a Mom: You go from managing your children to connecting with them. You show them that peace is possible, even in a messy world.

4. Your Connection with God: Noise drowns out His whispers. But stillness? That’s where He speaks. You were made for communion with Him—not chaos.

"Be still, and know that I am God." – Psalm 46:10

Life Coaching Tips to Begin Simplifying

  • Name What Matters: Take five minutes to journal what you really want your days to feel like.

  • Audit Your Commitments: Circle the things that drain you. Ask, "Is this mine to carry?"

  • Set Boundaries: No is loving when it protects your yes to God and your family.

  • Simplify Routines: Don’t underestimate the power of small habits and predictable rhythms.

  • Create Margin: Schedule nothing. Protect blank space. Breathe.

  • Ask for Help: Stop pretending you have to hold it all. Let someone lighten the load.

  • Limit Social Media: If it steals your joy, costs your peace, or feeds your comparison, pause it.

You Are Allowed to Slow Down

Hear this: you are not lazy for needing rest. You are not selfish for needing space. You are not weak for needing help. You are human. You are a daughter of the King. And He invites you into peace.

Simplicity isn’t just a lifestyle, it’s a lifeline. It brings you back to yourself. Back to your purpose. Back to the God who loves you.

So let’s breathe. Let’s release. Let’s simplify. And let’s begin to live the nourished life we were created for.
